BETTY GIESBRECHT (KLASSEN/EITZEN)
September 12, 1938 – March 31, 2017
With heavy hearts we announce Betty’s passing. She is survived by son Steve; sisters Mary (Mike) Gregorash, and Susie (Don) Snyder; brother Duke (Carrie) Klassen; sisters-in-law Shirley Klassen and Agatha Wall; step-children Debbie (Mike), Dale (Jennifer), Delmar (Jlee), Dallas (Angie), and extended family.
Betty was predeceased by parents Diedrich and Susie Klassen, son Patrick, sister Agnes, brother Bernie, husband Jack and husband Stan.
Betty was born in Winkler, Manitoba, raised in Altona and baptized in EMMC Altona. She started an after-school job at Hiway Inn and after graduating, worked full-time at CVO. She moved to Winnipeg and worked at Cuthbert Company during which time she met Jack Eitzen. They married in 1962, moved to Altona and bought Roadside Store. In 1969 Patrick was born but died shortly after. They moved back to Winnipeg and Steve was born in 1972. Relocating to Glenboro, they purchased Glenboro Corner Store. A few years later they moved to Morden and Betty started working at Gemini Fashions. In 1984 they returned to Winnipeg where she worked at Gemini again, ending her career at Armord Realty in 2009.
Jack passed away in 2002, six months after her mom died. In 2004, Betty married Stan Giesbrecht. They enjoyed 5 wonderful years together before Stan’s passing in 2009. She spent her remaining years enjoying family, volunteering and coffee times.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne’s Road. Interment will follow in Altona Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
